Agni Suktam

In Vedic texts, Agni is a major and often invoked God. Agni Devata remains an integral part of Vedic Sanatana Dharma traditions, a witness -Agni Sakshi.

Divine Agni is addressed as Vaishwaanara-“Vishwa nara hitah”, an essential life source, easily available “Supaayana”.

Mandala 1, Hymn 1.1 in Rig Veda is addressed to God Agni, arranged so that name of this God is the first word of Rig Veda. It begins describing him as a Purohita, Ritvik, among the 10,028 verses.
